Evan Lord


General Manager Cropping

Evan joined the DB Group in July 2016. He was born and raised in Melbourne, Victoria. Both his parents shared a farming background which sparked an interest in agriculture at a young age. He furthered this interest following his high school education by completing a Bachelor of Agriculture through the University of Melbourne, specialising in broadacre cropping and agronomy. He is currently studying a postgraduate degree in Precision Agriculture through the University of New England.

Prior to joining the DB Group he held management positions with a corporate dryland cropping enterprise on the Darling Downs and Southern Riverina. Through this role he gained experience in growing a range of summer and winter crops including, cotton, sorghum, mung beans, and chick peas. He also has experience with precision agricultural tools including pH and EM mapping, variable rate input control and utilising NDVI Imagery.   In 2009 he was the winner of the NSW Syngenta SPRAY awards and went on to become runner up in the national finals. He also completed the Marcus Oldham Rural Leadership Program in 2014. Evan is also the current president of the Mirrool Creek Grower Group.  

His role with DB Ag involves the overall strategic management of all farming operations within the group. In addition to the management of the Mirrool property ‘Rowallan,’ growing predominant canola, wheat and legume based pastures. In 2013 he married Katrina, they have three children, Ella, Charlie and Mia. In July 2017 Evan and Katrina became unit holders within the group.
